Palette War Wednesday: Too Faced Chocolate Bar!

Happy Humpday, readers! Today I want to show you and talk about the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I received this as a gift as part of an exchange on Reddit. Like other familiar Too Faced products (chocolate soleil bronzer, anyone?) it is made with real cocoa powder. You smell chocolate as soon as you crack the lid! It even looks like a yummy candy bar 🙂

Please excuse photo quality-I have been having some camera issues and I think it’s fixed now but some of the existing pictures in my inventory are screwy.

The palette is accompanied by an insert showing 3 makeup looks to try. I attempted these and then spent a few days experimenting.

Day 1:

This is the first tutorial I attempted. Additional products in top left used are: glamouflage concealer, ulta blush, nyx eyebrow kit, 29 cosmetics mascara, buxom gloss, body shop bb cream, and boots beautifully matte foundation.

I’m not a big fan of eyeshadow looks that put dark colors on the inner corners of the eye. I find that my eyes look much larger and more open using lighter colors here to highlight instead.

Day 2:

Additional products are nyx eyebrow kit, 29 cosmetics mascara, mary kay liptick, boots foundation, sephora pantone eyeliner, glamouflage concealer.

I was somewhat more happy with this look. I find that the neutrals that lean pink are more flattering against my skin–why I love the Naked3, coincidentally.

Day 3:

Additional products used are rimmel stay matte primer, boots foundation, stila lipstick, UD lip liner, clump crusher mascara, benefit hoola bronzer, napoleon perdis the one concealer, nyx blush in spice, and bareminerals mineral veil.

Day 4: Playtime!

Nyx Blush, too faced clear lip liner (another gift!), nyx lipstick, smashbox full exposure mascara, physicians formula color correcting powder, julep kajal eyeliner, boots foundation, glamouflage concealer.

I liked the look I created much better than the ones from the tutorial pamphlet. This look was much brighter!

Day 5:

kat von d blush, lorac mascara, chella eyebrow pencil, boots foundation, cailyn eyeliner, benefit erase paste.

So there you have it! Does anyone out there have this palette or more tutorials for me to try? Comment and let me know! This isn’t a palette I would have gone out of my way to buy but I am so happy to have it. At the very least it smells divine!
