Mani-c Monday: Carpe Noctem The 90’s

Hullo readers! Today I am going to show you one of my FAVE glitter toppers! This is Carpe Noctem’s The 90s, one of many of my Carpe Noctem polishes. It is probably my favorite indie brand so far–not that I have that many YET but I am slowly but surely starting to venture out. However, Carpe Noctem was one of my first and will thus always hold a special place in my heart. That, and the fact that these polishes have super smooth application and last forever and are available in multiple sizes.

The 90s is a matte neon glitter–with big neon hexes. You don’t have to go fishing for the hexes either. I wore it in the following pictures over Color Club-Harp On It. I was so excited about how this manicure turned out that I didn’t wait for daylight OR for cleaning up the lines. This should not be news to you where I am concerned 😛

Those last couple pictures with flash really show off the holographic quality of the Color Club. This manicure is everything I love–glitter, neon colors, bright sparkly goodness!

Mani-c Mondays: Color Club Glitter Gradient

The great thing about the KISS glitter gradient kit I received from Influenster is that it effectively taught me how to create a glitter gradient using existing colors in my collection! Here is a silver-to-blue gradient I created using 3 shades from Color Club.

The glitter I chose was Savoy Nights, which is silver suspended in translucent blue. SO I did a silver base, and did a foil blue tip, and then silver on half nail. ta-da! easy peasy!

What are your favorite polishes for gradients?

Nail Art Catchup

Good evening readers! I’ve been posting a lot of box reviews lately, so here are some manicures to catch you up on what my nails have been sporting over the last few weeks…months? It might be months now. I’m probably the world’s worst beauty blogger 🙂

Image

This was my birthday manicure! I used two Zoyas–Zoya Sailor from the fall cashmere line, and Zoya Sunshine, their similarly colored fall Pixiedust. On the middle finger is Happy Birthday by Deborah Lippman.
I love the ease of application and full coverage of Zoya polish. These pictures do not do it justice!

Here we have some stripe tape art, featuring butter London British Racing Green over Color Club Silver Lake. The “accent nails” are where I screwed up the taping >.< I dressed them up with Zoya Opal flake effect topcoat. I had been coveting this color green for a very very long time and finally snagged it for $10 during Ulta’s promotion in September.

I tried out two more of the Zoya fall cashmere line–Louise (brown) and Pepper (red). These colors are scrumptious. I won the full cashmere set at the end of september at a fundraiser and i couldnt be more thrilled.

Another new butter London–Scuppered. Incredibly hard to photograph. This polish is actually comprised of gold, green and red glitters and has amazingly full coverage.

You got a sneak peek of this one in last week’s Birchbox reviews! This is Zoya Flynn, of the cashmeres, and Ruffian’s Hedge Fund, from Birchbox. This was also my first attempt at interlocking dots…BE GENTLE.

Getting closer…HOMECOMING! This was from a few weekends ago. I went back to good old MoCo to march with the alumni band and did an accompanying mani. I honestly can’t remember what the blue and grey were that I used. The glitter was from the Sephora OPI Cinderella set.

This mani is….action packed. I know I used Sonia Kashuk Fatigued and Sally Hansen Sugar Coat in Candy Corn. with striping tape. and rhinestones. Honestly I STILL can’t decide if i liked it or not.

Believe it or not, I have even MORE manicures to show you since I last uploaded pictures, as well as some very special manicures I created for charity. But more on that another time!

Do you all love Zoya and butter london as much as I do? What do you think about my quilted bedazzled manicure? Hit me up!

Missing Manicures!

I have been idle and not showing you my lacquerista art lately! Let’s play catch up, shall we?

Unfortunately this one is SO OLD that I can’t tell you what colors I used. I can tell you this was my first serious playtime with my dotting tools. I’m super happy with how the little hearts turned out! Also it’s hard to tell but my thumbs have glitter on the french tip region!

Image

I got wise and started taking pictures so at least you would know what brands were used! This picture is precleanup. It didnt turn out the way i would like and Essie SOTT doesn’t photograph well on potato, but this was supposed to be sunset and it was my first sponge gradient experiment. not a total failure.

My first Rainbow Honey polish! this color is the kraken. Plus one of the Ariel sephora polishes, and a polish from the Julep champagne trio. Freehand cloudstyle manicure.

Stripe tape FTW! And doesnt that Skinn nude shade match my nailbed perfectly? It doesn’t even look like polish. its my MNBB color. I had a little bit of messiness on my right hand due to being righthanded but it kinda looked like I meant to do that so aherm….i *meant* to do that.

There you have it! I have more coming your way, don’t you worry! I have been a very busy blogger this summer and I can’t wait to show you what else I have been up to!
